| Many years ago I saw this picture of what the "Old Navy" was like. I have heard that one of the individuals pictured was a Hospital Corpsman. |

| The times have changed, but the tradition remains the same. As a young child during WWII my memories recall seeing men of all ages proudly wearing the uniform and doing their duty, protecting our great nation. At the age of 7, when the war ended, I longed for the opportunity to be a part of that heritage. As I grew older I would meet one of my relatives who was a Chief Petty Officer. He gave me one of his CPO cap devices and I knew that one day I would proudly earn the right to wear the uniform of a United States Navy Chief Petty Officer . The adventure started on my 17th birthday in 1955. Two weeks later, on 28 SEP 55, I raised my right hand and proudly enlisted. The Adventure begins.... |

In a span of 35 years; a mixed up career of active duty, reserve duty, a recall to active duty in 1961 and then back to the reserves until returning to active duty in 1975 and retiring on 30 APR 1991, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to meet and serve with literally thousands of individuals. Many of those impacted my life in ways for which I will always be grateful and cherish the friendships. The pictures in this scrapbook are some of my favorites and for those of you who are in them, I hope you enjoy them as much as I have. |
