NAVY spoken here !
This picture, with the sign, was posted on the bulkhead outside of our office.
(Didn’t amuse anyone very well, to say the least) |
| “TACO”, “SNUFFY” “BOSS” (those dark glasses!) and me. We posted this picture out front of our office and had “Welcome Aboard!” (They made me take down the sign that said (”Navy spoken here”). It raised a few eyebrows since we were the only Navy office, sandwiched among all of the other elements. It was during this tour that I had the pleasure of working with this young mustang officer (he is an ex-HM3). He never forgot the fact from whence he came and that is a quality that makes officers stand out from the rest. He was a Chief’s dream! Having a young officer that was always willing to ask for input and advice and took the interest of his troops to heart, made my job the most enjoyable. When I told him that he would be a Captain someday he said “Yeah, right, Chief! I’m just hoping to make LCDR”. For those of you who have had the pleasure to meet this gentleman, you know what I mean. For those of you who haven’t, he is now CAPTAIN William P. Frank, MSC,USN , XO Naval Medical Clinics Command, Pearl Harbor, HI. Sharon and I are still in touch with him and his  wife, Nan, and his two sons. I haven’t heard from “Taco” and “Snuffy” but I wanted to say Thanks, guys. You did a terrific job! |
